Ghana, China relations improve under NPP

Kumasi, May 03, GNA – Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, Ashanti Regional Minister on Wednesday said the cordial relationship between Ghana and China had improved tremendously under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government.

He said these were evidence in the several development projects and commitment shown by Chinese working in Ghana.

Mr Owusu-Ansah made the observation when Mr Zhang Keyuan, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana paid a courtesy call on him in Kumasi. Mr Keyuan was in Kumasi for a sod cutting to construct a 1.3 million-dollar Youth Centre at Ahinsan Estate in Kumasi. The project being financed by Chinese Government comprises tennis, basketball and badminton courts, changing rooms and multi-purpose auditorium.

Mr Owusu-Ansah said the project would improve lifestyles of the youth within the metropolis.

Mr Keyuan said the assistance to Ghana was not only on bilateral relations but on the international level as well and was optimistic the economic relations between both countries would improve. He said China’s assistance to the rehabilitation of the Ofankor-Nsawam road, construction of the Ministry of Defence office project and the Youth Centre showed his country’s continued relations with Ghana.
