Ghana Celebrates With Togo

A high powered Ghanaian delegation, led by Dr. Kwame-Addo-Kufuor, the Minister of Defence yesterday turned up in the 37th anniversary of the country’s National Liberation Day in Lome.

Speaking to journalist after the parade, Dr. Addo-Kufuor said Ghana’s participation in the anniversary was a further demonstration of the growing friendship between Ghana and Togo.

He said he was impressed by the smart turn-out of the contingents, and the enthusiasm displayed must have been as a result of their satisfaction with the steps taken so far by President Eyadema to rebuild the economy.

A military contigent, including the Ghana Armed Forces Band, which took part in the parade, virtually stole the show with their Ghanaian tunes, which sent the large crowd applauding.
