Ghana and Oman need to improve relations-Kufuor

Accra, Jan.27, GNA- President John Agyekum Kufuor on Tuesday stressed the need for Ghana and Oman to strengthen and improve on relationship between them for their mutual benefit.

He said both countries could take advantage of the opening of air links by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Ghana to promote trade and other economic ventures between them.

President Kufuor made the call when receiving the Letters of Credence from Mr Ahmed Bin Nassar Al Mahrizi, Ambassador of Oman to Ghana and resident in Algiers at the Castle, Osu.

Mr Al Mahrizi is also accredited to Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Gabon. President Kufuor said the distance between Algiers and Accra should not be a barrier in the performance of his duties but pay regular visit to strengthen the relationship between them. Mr Al Mahrizi said the government of Oman had much confidence in the government of Ghana and would ensure the necessary assistance was provided for her development.
