Ghana and Korea to have Parliamentary exchange programmes

Accra, March 23, GNA – Ghana and Korea are to undertake exchange programmes in Parliamentary affairs, Mr Jaykim Yoo, Chairman of the Korean Parliamentary Committee on Defence said in Accra on Wednesday.

He said efforts were also underway to unify North and South Korea, when he led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on President John Agyekum Kufuor at the Castle, Osu.

Mr Yoo, who made a stop-over in Accra from Dakar, commended the Government for deepening democratic rule in Ghana.

President Kufuor said Ghana and Korea were in the past at par in development but over the few years Korea had made giant strides in her socio-economic development “to become one of the Asian Tigers”. He said: ” we want to get closer to Korea and learn more about their socio-economic development.”
