Ghana Airways secures leased aircraft for passengers

Accra, July 31, GNA – Ghana Airways has secured a leased aircraft to transport passengers to and from the US, beginning from Tuesday, August 3, 2004. A statement issued by the Management of the Airways on Saturday, said this followed a permission granted to the airline by the US Department of Transport to charter an aircraft to fly out all returning passengers

It said the permission allowed the Airways to transport only passengers who had completed the first leg of their trip with the airline to Ghana or the US and have tickets for the return leg. Departure and Arrival time were respectively given as: Tuesday, August 3, Baltimore to Accra, 1130 hours and 0140 hours; Wednesday, August 4, Accra to New York, 1545 hours and 2300 hours; Thursday, August 5, New York to Accra, 1400 hours and 0400 hours; and Friday, August 6, Accra to Baltimore, 1900 hours and 0120 hours.

The statement said the airline would continue to pursue alternative arrangements for passengers who had not used any portion of their tickets. All returning passengers who needed additional information were asked to call on the following telephone lines: 021 768807 and 021 768809.
