Ghana Airways Grounding Causes Hassles for Travelers

Linthicum, Md. – The suspension of flights in and out of the U.S. by Ghana’s domestic airline has stranded at least 200 hundred travelers in Maryland.

Federal transportation officials grounded the Ghana Airways flights Tuesday because of aircraft safety concerns. The airline had been operating two weekly round-trip flights from Baltimore-Washington International Airport, as well as regular flights from New York City.

The airline is paying to lodge stranded passengers at a motel in Laurel, but the passengers say they’ve endured more than an inconvenience. They say their luggage was left in the rain after their flight was canceled Tuesday, ruining their clothes.
