Accra, Sept.7, GNA – The Ghana Federation of Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (GHAFTRAM) on Wednesday said it would put the services of members at the disposal of the public to reduce the workload on the few doctors working at the hospitals.
A statement issued in Accra, signed by Mr Godfried Yaw Boateng, General Secretary of the GHAFTRAM, said the national executive committee of the association viewed as most unfortunate, the decision by the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) to embark on a nationwide strike. The association appealed to all traditional medical practitioners to open their clinics to anybody who might call on them “in this difficult period and if possible offer their services free of charge or at the lowest cost”.
It also called on the negotiating authorities to address the problem of the GMA as early as possible, and appealed to the GMA to call off the strike action so that both associations could serve the good people of Ghana.
