Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has announced a significant financial injection for Ghana Premier League clubs, revealing that each team will receive GHS 1 million ahead of the 2025/26 season.
President Okraku disclosed that the funding is part of a newly finalised partnership between the GFA and Adesa Productions. The deal is expected to not only provide financial relief for clubs but also enhance the visibility and commercial appeal of the league.
“Each Ghana Premier League club will receive GHS 1 million before the start of the upcoming season from the Adesa Productions partnership,” Okraku stated. “This is a game-changer for our league, and we believe it will empower clubs to invest in infrastructure, player welfare, and technical development.”
The announcement comes at a time when many clubs have publicly raised concerns over financial constraints, with some struggling to meet basic operational costs. Okraku described the initiative as a major step toward professionalising the domestic game and restoring public confidence in the league.
The GFA boss was quick to commend Adesa Productions for its belief in Ghanaian football and expressed optimism about the long-term impact of the collaboration.
With the new Ghana Premier League season set to kick off in September, attention now shifts to how clubs will utilise the funds to elevate the standard of the game and re-energise local support.
