The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, has assured Ghanaians that the Black Stars will receive total support as they prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana sealed qualification after a 1–0 victory over Comoros in Accra, booking their fifth appearance on football’s biggest stage.
Speaking ahead of preparations for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico, Okraku stressed that the GFA is fully focused on giving the team the best possible platform to compete.
“As the Black Stars prepare to represent the nation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the GFA reaffirms its commitment to providing every necessary support to ensure the team’s success on the world stage,” he said.
His remarks come at a crucial moment as Ghana aims to surpass its historic 2010 quarter-final run, the country’s best-ever performance at a World Cup.
The GFA president emphasised that success will require unity, planning and investment in both technical and logistical areas.
“We know how much this means to the people of Ghana. Our responsibility is to ensure the team is fully equipped, physically, mentally and tactically, to compete with the best in the world,” he added.
The final tournament draw will take place on 5 December, setting the stage for Ghana’s World Cup journey.
With growing excitement across the nation, all eyes will be on the Black Stars to deliver another memorable campaign on the global stage.
