Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has unveiled an ambitious initiative that will see 220 Ghanaian fans win an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
The project, dubbed the “World Cup Bonanza,” is a partnership between the GFA, the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and Rambell Limited, aimed at rewarding loyal supporters of the national team, the Black Stars.
Speaking at the launch at the GFA Headquarters in Accra, Mr Okraku described the campaign as a “celebration of unity, passion and national pride,” emphasising the crucial role fans play in Ghana’s football journey.
“We did not qualify alone, and we cannot go to the World Cup alone. Our fans must journey with us,” he said.
The raffle, which will be open to the public, offers supporters the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime trip to watch Ghana compete at the World Cup, to be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
The initiative comes as Ghana celebrates qualification for their fifth FIFA World Cup appearance, and their second in a row, a testament to the resilience of the Black Stars and their supporters.
Okraku said the partnership reflects the FA’s commitment to making football more inclusive and engaging for ordinary fans.
“It’s important that we, at the Football Association, think not only about ourselves but about the country, especially the 12th man, our dear supporters.”
The “World Cup Bonanza” raffle is expected to kick off in the coming weeks, with full details on participation to be announced soon.
