GFA Charges Hohoe United and Young Apostles for Starting League Match With 10 Players Each

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged Hohoe United FC and Young Apostles FC after both clubs allegedly fielded only 10 players each during their Ghana Premier League Matchday 2 clash, despite having full squads available.

The disciplinary action, announced under Article 34(6)(d) of the 2025 Premier League Regulations, accuses the two sides of conduct that subjected the game to “public ridicule” and brought the competition into disrepute.

The unusual incident has raised eyebrows among fans and football stakeholders, with many questioning the reasoning behind the clubs’ decision.

Both Hohoe United and Young Apostles have until Tuesday, 30 September 2025, to respond to the charges.

The GFA’s move signals its intent to uphold the integrity of the league as the 2025/2026 season unfolds.
