Getrude Agyemang Badu is APHAS national secretary

Miss Getrude Agyemang Badu of the Sunyani Polytechnic has been elected as the National Secretary of the Association of HND Accountancy Students (APHAS) for the 2011/2012 academic year.

She takes over from Henry Bright Ansah of the Ho Polytechnic. Miss Agyemang Badu polled 816 votes to beat her competitor Miss Majid Mubarakata, who had 445 votes in a keenly contested election.

Speaking to Space FM after the polls, Miss Agyemang Badu thanked the entire APHAS for electing her and praised her campaign team for the marvelous work done. She promised to live up to expectation and called for total support to enable her succeed.

Most of the students who took part in the electoral process had predicted victory for Miss Agyemang Badu saying she was friendly, had good command over the english language, appeared more attractive and had better understanding of secretarial duties.
