GETFund gives pick-up to Mfantseman Girls Secondary

Saltpond July 4, GNA – The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) has donated a double cabin Nissan-pick-up to the Mfantseman Girls Secondary School at Saltpond in the Central Region.

The donation, which was made on behalf of the GETFund Administration by Nana Ato Arthur, Central Regional Minister, was in fulfilment of a promise by the Regional Minister to the school during its 44th speech and prize-giving day early this year. In a speech Nana Arthur gave the assurance that the problems the headmistress catalogued during the speech day were receiving attention. These included, the completion of the assembly hall complex, water supply, road rehabilitation and the provision of a new classroom block. The Regional Minister said tarring of the access roads in the school had been included in the second phase of the rehabilitation of Saltpond town roads, which would soon take-off. He said when the expansion work on the Baikfikrom water head works was completed the perennial water problem facing the school would be a thing of the past, adding that, work on the assembly hall which had come to a stand still would restart soon. Nana Arthur said approval had been given for the construction of a new classroom block for the school.

Mrs. Sarah V. Wilson, Headmistress expressed gratitude to the Regional Minister, the GETFund Administration, Mr. Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, MP for the area, and the DCE for their efforts to improve conditions in the school.
