GETA Inaugural Conference Slated for Sunyani.

Tutors of Economics from public and private senior high schools across the country will from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th September , 2016 converge in Sunyani , Brong Ahafo Regional capital for their inaugural conference. The three day maiden conference will come off at the GNAT Regional Secretariat Hall .
The theme for the occasion is ; The Impact of Economics Education on the Individual and Society for Sustainable Development. A communiqué signed by the Association’s acting secretary Mr. Eric Owusu Amponsah explains, the conference will afford members the opportunity to deliberate among other things: The need of producing high standard textbooks for Economics for SHS, linking the knowledge of Economics between SHS and tertiary education and also finding modalities of funding a solid and reliable association to cater for the well being of members.
Touching on key personalities to grace the occasion, the communiqué stated, Professor Steven Addai , former rector of GIMPA will deliver the keynote address while Mr. David Afosah , former headmaster of Ghana Senior High – Koforidua, Dr. Osei Fosu Anthony , senior Economics lecturer -KNUST and Mr. Nketiah Costers -acting National President of Ghana Economics Teachers’ Association (GETA) will be in attendance to deliver speeches on other topics .
The communiqué indicated that , Director General of GES has granted approval for a fee of one hundred Ghana cedis (GHC120.00) to charged per a participant which will cater for accommodation, feeding and other logistics.
The conference will be climaxed by election of national executives and the official inauguration of the association.
