GES will protect you – Director assures teachers

Breme (B/A) Feb. 21 GNA – Mrs. Veronica Essuman-Nelson, Tano District Education Officer, has assured teachers of the Ghana Education Service’s continued protection to enable them to perform efficiently. She therefore asked teachers to be law abiding and to abide by the professional code of the service.

Mrs. Essuman-Nelson was addressing the staff of the Cluster of Schools at Breme, near Bechem in Brong Ahafo after receiving reports of harassment, threats and insults on them by some people in the Area, anytime they punished wayward pupils.

“As far as teachers continue to exhibit good morals, be regular and punctual, as well as prepare comprehensive lesson notes they will definitely be protected by the Service”, the district director emphasized.

Mr. Godfred Oppong, Bechem Circuit Supervisor, cautioned teachers against their habitual lateness to school, saying “since the community is watching you, you should try and change your attitude to teaching”. Mr. N.N.N. Acheampong, head teacher, thanked the District Director for her concern and gave assurance of the staff’s determination to work harder to help the school perform creditably in the next Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
