GES warns parents against school placement scams says it’s free

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a warning to parents and guardians about fraudulent activities related to senior high school placements.

Despite claims on social media suggesting that payments are required for placement, the GES emphasizes that the process is completely free.

“At no point should any parent, guardian, or student pay money to any individual or group of persons for placement into any Senior High School or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institution,” the statement stressed.

According to GES, they have put in place official and transparent processes to handle placements, advising parents and guardians to use only the computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal, the Resolution Centres, and official GES communication channels for all placement-related matters.

The Service further urged the public to report anyone demanding money for placements, saying “We encourage anyone who is approached with demands for money in exchange for placement to report immediately to the Ghana Education Service or the nearest police station for swift action.”
