GES to grant teachers study leave with pay

Ajumako (C/R), Dec 03, GNA – The Ghana Education Service Council will grant study leave with pay to 3,000 teachers for the 2004/2005 academic year, Dr David Ahose, Director of Human Resource Management and Development of (HRMD) of the Ghana Education Service, has said.

Last year the GES granted 5,000 teachers study leave.

Dr Ahorse said this when he opened a workshop for Regional Directors of Education and representatives of Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Teachers and Education Workers Union and Managers of Education Units, at Ajumako.

The objective of the workshop was to determine the quota for study leave with pay for the 2004/2005 academic year.

Dr Ahorse said the GES, in its efforts to streamline the implementation of the study leave policy and to make it cost effective came out with the quota system.
