GES Sets October 18 for SHS Freshers to Report to School

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that all first-year Senior High School (SHS) students are to report to their respective schools on Saturday, October 18, 2025.

The directive, which applies to both single-track and transitional schools, follows the release of the official 2025/2026 academic calendar.

In a circular issued to Regional Directors of Education, GES outlined term dates, holidays, and other arrangements to ensure a smooth academic year. Regional Directors have been asked to share the calendar with heads of second-cycle institutions, supervise its implementation, and provide monitoring and support to maintain uniformity across schools.

“The Service counts on your usual cooperation to ensure effective teaching and learning in our institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year,” the statement said.
