GES must create conducive environment for education

Accra, May 21, GNA – The Head of the Lincoln Community School, Dr. Dennis Larkin, has urged the Ghana Education Service (GES) to create an enabling for environment for studies in their schools.

This should be created through the adequate provision of educational facilities and resources to provide the right kind of education for learners.

Dr Larkin was speaking to the GNA in an interview at the maiden National Youth Education Forum at the Lincoln Community School at Abelenkpe in Accra.

He said education must offer a platform for critical thinking, questioning, communication and reasoning to offer solutions to the problems bedevilling society.

The forum, which sought to elicit ideas from the youth on a wide range of educational issues to be factored into the Ministry of Education’s policy document, was attended by eight senior high schools in the Greater Accra Region.

He explained that students in his school excel because of dedicated staff with adequate resources and teaching aids.

Dr Larkin asked teachers to blend content material with teaching methodology and ensure that the right atmosphere is created for students to become learners for life.

He said as partners in education, the Lincoln Community School is poised to ensure good quality education delivery in Ghana.
