Germany Funds Markets For Three Towns In Brong Ahafo

Germany is assisting the Nkoranza District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region to construct modern markets in three communities in the district.

The beneficiary communities are Dromankese, Nkwabeng and Donkronkwanta.

Mr Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, District Chief Executive, announced this at a fund raising rally organised by the people of Dromankese to generate funds towards their market project estimated at more than 940 million cedis.

He said the beneficiary communities would take 10 per cent quota of the project cost each with the District Assembly assisting with half of the counterpart cost.

The people of Dromankese would, therefore, pay 47 million cedis for the facility.

Mr Ampofo-Twumasi urged the people to unite and generate enough funds for the successful execution of the project.

Mr. Opoku Bora, Chairman of the community projects committee, said the people were contributing 20,000 cedis a man and 10,000 cedis a woman towards the project.

Non-resident citizens are contributing 50,000 cedis and 30,000 cedis a man and woman respectively.
