German Chancellor and President congratulate Kufuor

Accra, Dec. 15, GNA – Mr Horst K=F6hler, the German President and Mr Gerhard Schr=F6der, German Chancellor, have sent separate messages of congratulation to President John Agyekum Kufuor on his election victory last week.

In his message released by the German Embassy in Accra on Wednesday, Mr Schr=F6der said he was delighted President Kufuor could continue his work for the good of Ghana and its citizens on the basis of the convincing electoral mandate.

“I am confident that under your leadership Ghana will continue to play an outstanding and exemplary role as a stable democracy in Africa.” Mr K=F6hler said Ghana had taken a very positive turn under President Kufuor’s Presidency.

“Domestically, your country has undergone stable development. It is at the helm of the NEPAD process, which has such crucial significance for all of Africa, and has played a vital role in peacekeeping efforts in the region under your leadership as ECOWAS Chairman.

“I look back with pleasure on our past meetings and would welcome an opportunity in the near future to continue our exchanges on bilateral topics and issues concerning developments in Africa as a whole.” Mr K=F6hler said the Federal Republic of Germany would remain a reliable partner of Ghana.
