Leader and flagbearer of the Great Consolidate People’s Party (GCPP) Dr. Henry Lartey has predicted a 2.5 million votes from the Ashanti Region which would pave way for him to win the 2016 general elections and be sworn in as President of the Republic of Ghana.

Dr. Henry Lartey who was speaking with students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) over the weekend said, the rate of youth unemployment is a time bomb for the country and until the situation is resolved, Ghana stands to suffer from the ripple effects.

According to him, the situation posses a lot of social and security threats hence the need to adopt measures to reverse the trend.

Dr. Henry Lartey noted, policies from successive governments has worsen the situation and led to the collapse of the local industry which could have served as tool for resolving the crisis facing the nation.

In his view, if the energies of the youth graduating from school are not put to good use, they will later turn on the society by attacking them as a means of surviving from the economic hardship facing the nation.
