GCB tops lists of eight banks in Ghana.

The Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), the nation’s premier bank topped the lists of 8 banks in the top hundred companies in Ghana. According to the Ghana Club 100 magazine, GCB comes first among 8 banks within the top 50 bracket with a turnover and net assets of 101.316 billion cedis and 76.952 billion cedis respectively. Other basis of criteria is its pre-tax profits, which fixed at 63.047 billion cedis with employees listed at 3423. Standard Chartered Bank came in second with 43.146 billion cedis in turnover and fixed assets valued at 21 billion 892 thousand cedis. Pre-tax profits of Stanchart was posted at 24 billion, 631 thousand cedis and has employees numbering 552 nationwide. Social Security Bank (SSB), which received a massive injection of foreign capital investment recently, placed third with a turnover of 42.590 billion cedis.
