GBL to sponsor more programmes

Wa, Nov 4, GNA – Ghana Breweries Limited would as from next year channel their sponsorship package to lesser sporting activities, less privileged in society and educational institutions as part of their social responsibility towards national development.

Mr Segun Adebanji, Managing Director of GBL who disclosed these in a media encounter at Wa as part of his two-day visit to the region however, explained that his outfit would only consider applications that are routed through national headquarters and not from regional offices. “Anybody or organization that wants to seek sponsorship for activities can only succeed if they channel their applications through their national offices which we see as the normal route”, he stressed.

He said GBL had over the years, sponsored festivals and other tourists programmes, schools and the physically challenged programmes, but added that it was not possible to sponsor programmes that did not fall within their jurisdiction of sponsorship.

Major (rtd) A.B. Don-Chebe, Corporate Affairs Manager explained that last year’s ABC Beer buy-one-get-one-free programme was a scheme to re-launch the production in the market and not because the product was not good.

“When we re-launch the product in that way, our sales increased and customers had the worth of their money”.

He said the company would continue to give their numerous customers “juicy” offers that would sustain the consumption of their products. Major Don-Chebe said they would also continue to research into their products so as to keep their annual satisfactory performance to customers all over.

The encounter drew media personnel from both print and electronic media houses, distributors and some retailers in the region.
