Gas explosion kills 9, injures many in Bole

At least nine people are reported dead in a gas explosion accident at the Tinga market in the Bole district of the Northern Region.

The explosion also injured several others who have been taken to the Tinga Hospital for treatment. They were later transferred to the Bole Government Hospital.

Some of the victims who died have been burnt beyond recognition. Apart from killing and injuring people, several houses and property were decimated by the explosion.

The explosion occurred as a fuel tanker travelling to Wa in the Upper West Region reached the Tinga market.

Fire officers rushed to the scene to douse the fast-spreading fire.
