Garu-Tempane District set to grow – DCE

Mr Albert Akuka Alalzuuga, the District Chief Executive for the Garu-Tempane District, has said the assembly was working hard to accelerate the development of the area.

Mr Alalzuuga, who made this known in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the Tamne Irrigation facility, which has been on the drawing board since 1967, is one of the projects being restructured to boost the development of the area.

He said the project when completed, would provide employment for the youth of the District and its surrounding areas, adding that, “it would help cut down the country’s import of vegetables from neighbouring countries and help curb the rural urban migration among the youth”.

Mr Alalzuuga said one of the challenges facing the District is the lack of a hospital and expressed the hope that the Garu-Tempane District Hospital project would help address the health needs of the people
