Gare-gbane School children gets free school uniforms

Tongo (UE) March 25, GNA – Children of Gare-gbane Primary School in the Talensi-Nabdam District in the Upper East Region, would receive free school uniforms and exercise books.

Mrs. Lucy Awini, Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, has presented 26,869 exercise books and 1,685 school uniforms for distribution to the 836 school children.

She said government was committed to ensuing that every Ghanaian child had access to free education, adding that about 2 million exercise books were allocated for the region for distribution to school children. Mrs. Awuni asked school children to study hard to enable them to acquire skills and knowledge needed for national development. She advised noted that education was the foundation for national development and asked parents to support their children to harness their potentials.

Mrs. Vivian Anarfo, District Chief Executive, said the assembly would contribute to the development of education in the area. The District Director of Education, Mr. Francis Ayaaba appealed for the construction of more classroom blocks in the area. He commended government for its effort towards the development of education in the area. 25 March 10
