GAF to conduct jungle warfare training exercise

Accra, July 1, GNA – The Ghana Armed Forces on Friday announced that it would conduct a routine military exercise that would involve the movement of troops in the general area of Akim Achiase in the Eastern Region.

A statement Colonel E.W.K. Nibo, Armed Forces Director of Public Relations, signed on Friday said: “The Ghana Armed Forces will conduct a five-day major jungle warfare training exercise code-named ‘Exercise Tiger’s Path 05’ in the Akim Achiase general area from July 5 to July 9 2005.

“The exercise is expected to test troops in jungle craft, navigational skills, endurance and obstacle crossing. Also to be tested are knowledge of First Aid and Immediate Action drills. “Competing teams will be drawn from the Southern and Northern Commands of the Army, the Support Services Brigade, the Navy and Air Force”. The statement said.
