The Ghana Armed Forces is coming under pressure to make public how much it spends on its operations.
Anti-graft body, Transparency International wants the Army to disclose its cost of procurement of equipment and other operations to ensure transparency in the security sector.
The call follows reports of alleged corruption within the military set up of most African countries.
Ghana scored D in a recent finding on transparency in the Defense and security sector.
Senior Advisor on Defense and Security at Transparency International, Sir Stewart Eldon said the demand for transparency will help dispel the perception of corruption within the Army.
Speaking to the media after opening a workshop to commemorate International Leadership Day on Defense and Security, Sir Eldon said it would rather enhance of the image of the media if it makes public how much it spends on equipment and its operations.
