GAF deploys logistics in search of missing tanker

The Acting Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Armed Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Aggrey Quarshie, says the search is still on for the vessel which reportedly went missing in Ghana’s territorial waters last Friday.

According to him, the Ghana Navy and Air force, in collaboration with their Togolese and Nigerian counterparts are still searching the coordinates that were given to them for tracking.

Lt. Col. Quarshie admitted that Piracy has risen in the Gulf of Guinea in recent times, but said this is the first reported incident in Ghanaian waters.

He gave the assurance that the Ghana Armed Forces are on high alert to foil piracy attacks.
