GAF Assures Justice for Drug Store Attendant and Female Customer Attacked by military officer

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has taken swift action against a soldier who was captured on video assaulting a drug store attendant and a female customer at a pharmacy in Accra’s Burma Camp.

 

The soldier was arrested on Thursday, October 30, 2025, and is currently assisting with investigations.

 

In a statement from GAF signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations, the victims have received medical attention and are cooperating with the investigation.

 

Howver, the Armed Forces has condemned the soldier’s actions, stating that they “will not condone any acts of assault on civilians and will not shield any soldier engaged in such.”

 

The incident has sparked public outrage, and the GAF has assured the public that they will provide further updates as the investigation progresses.

 

The GAF has emphasized discipline and accountability as core military values and has taken steps to address reports of unprofessional conduct among its ranks.
