GaDangme Council urges Police to exhibit neutrality

Accra, Aug. 09, GNA – The GaDangme Council on Thursday appealed to the Ghana Police Service to exhibit neutrality and avoid unnecessary acts of intimidation and provocation during the Homowo celebration on Saturday, August 12.

A statement titled: “Let Peace Prevail during This Homowo Season,” signed by Dr K. B. Asante, President of the GaDangme Council in Accra, also appealed to all involved in chieftaincy disputes in the Ga state to desist from any action which would disturb the peace of the state during the celebrations.

The Council requested that Kpokpoi, the traditional meal for the festival, should be sprinkled only in houses (We and Shai) and not in the streets.

In addition, it asked leading members and leaders, including political leaders. to avoid inflammatory statements while all GaDangme worked towards peace.

The Council urged all to observe the custom, rule of law and the tradition of Ga State in an environment of love and peace.
