Gabby: Gov’t behind Bawumia 2016 posters

Chief Executive of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Okyere Darko, says the recent circulation of leaked posters of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, 2012 running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is an attempt by government to divert attention.

According to him, “Dr. Bawumia has nothing to do with it” and that, “it’s a necessary diversionary tactics for the government.”

Some posters bearing the portrait of Dr. Bawumia and NPP logo (elephant symbol) at the top left corner and the inscription “Sponsored by friends of Dr. Bawumia” underneath, were spotted at certain areas around the Psychiatric Hospital in Accra.

The posters are intended to advertise Dr. Bawumia as the party’s preferred choice for the 2016 general elections.

But speaking in an interview with Radio Gold on Wednesday, Gabby Okyere Darko was of the view that government is hiding behind the posters to sidetrack the focus of Ghanaians from its operations.
