Gabby dares SC; ‘let them come after me’

Executive Director of policy think tank Danquah Institute, Mr. Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has dared the Supreme Court to haul him for contempt, if it deems his recent description as “corrupt”, the court’s judgment on the election petition case, has scandalised the judiciary.

“Let them come and take me if that’s how they feel”, Mr. Asare Otchere-Darko dared the apex court on Saturday.

He asked, “What’s the worse [thing] they can do to me; throw me into jail or what, say I’m no longer a Lawyer?”

According to him, “I don’t think I’ve gone anywhere near the limit” and wondered: “…Are they beyond criticism?”

“What is the big deal?” He enquired.

Mr. Otchere-Darko came under a deluge of criticism after he wrote on his facebook page that not only was the judgment “corrupt” but also “farcical”.

He has, nonetheless, refused to apologise for the comment.

Speaking on Joy FM’s news analysis programme ‘newsfile’ on Saturday, Mr. Otchere-Darko said: “I’ll go there and defend myself if they think that it is such a major issue for them”.
