Ga Mashie lifts ban on drumming and noise making

Ga Mashie in the Greater Accra Region on Thursday celebrated the Odadao Ceremony to mark the lifting of a one month ban on drumming and noise making in Ga area.

The one month ban is an annual ritual observed to seek favour from the gods for abundance of food and fish for the Homowo Festival.

This year’s festival is scheduled for Saturday August 10.

Nii Ayi Bonte II, Gbese Mantse, expressed the Ga State unhappiness about the constant fire outbreaks in the markets within the Accra Metropolis.

He called for intensive investigations and appropriate measures to forestall future occurrence of the disasters.

Nii Bonte noted that the markets are important to the country’s economy, hence the need for a holistic approach to resolve fire outbreak.
