Ga East Municipal Assembly lauds biometric registration exercise

Mr John Kwao Sackey, Ga East Municipal Chief Executive has expressed satisfaction about the conduct of the people in the biometric voters registration exercise.

He said, prospective voters in the municipality have shown maturity in the registration exercise as no incident has been recorded so far.

Mr Sackey made this known to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra.

He said, there was rush at the registration centres as people were misinformed that they would lose the opportunity to patronise the exercise in different locations.

Mr Sackey said the Municipal Assembly took the task to go round and educate the people on how the exercise was going to be carried out.

“The tension over things have returned to normalcy and no problem has so far been reported,” he stressed.

He said the municipality is entangled with new settlements as it is closer to the nation’s capital, adding that this would put some pressure on some registration centres.**
