Ga East MCE inspect new La-Nkwantanang/Madina Municipal office project in Madina

Mr. John Kwao Sackey, Municipal Chief Executive of Ga East on Monday said, chiefs and opinion leaders were important personalities in local governance and their role and participation in local government should be encouraged.

He said the role of chiefs and opinion leaders in local activities enhanced development across the country.

The MCE said this when he was accompanied by some chief and opinion leaders of Madina to inspected work at the temporal office complex of the newly created La- Nkwantanang/Madina Municipal Assembly.

The Assembly, curved out of the Ga East Municipality, will be inaugurated on June 19.

Mr. Sackey said the Assembly would need more structures and appealed for support from the chiefs and people of the area.

Mr. Iddris Dick Holison, an opinion leader said government has fulfilled the promise of providing the people of Madina with a Municipality and promised the support of the people towards government initiatives aimed at developing Ghana.**
