FUSSAG suspends strike

The University of Cape Coast branch of the Federation of Universities Senior Staff Associations of Ghana has backed down on its strike.

Its members are expected to resume work Thursday, February 6.

The Association embarked on the action to protest against delays in payment of salary arrears.

The decision to call off the strike comes on the heels of an assurance by the University authorities to pay the arrears soon.

The chairman for the UCC block Daniel Agyere Athur in an interview with XYZ News said salaries for January hit their account Tuesday and they hope all other issues will be settled to avert another industrial action.
