FUSSAG Inaugurates New Executives

The KNUST branch of FUSSAG on Wednesday swore in a new set of Executives to man the affairs of the group.
The ceremony was under the theme, “FUSSAG, Which way?”
Speaking at the well patronized swearing –in ceremony at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Peter Donkor urged the new Executives to employ an effective means of communication to ensure adequate information flow between the Executives and the membership of FUSSAG.
For his part, Mr. Asare Bediako, the former FUSSAG chairman encouraged newly elected Executives to seek advice and endeavour to use dialogue and principles in solving the Federation’s challenges.
He says they should employ the labour act and other laws of the land in all their dealings.
The new Executives include Mr. Joseph Agalik Agalik (Chairman), Ernest Ofori Duah (First Vice Chair), Nana Nsiah Adu (second Vice chair), J.W. Finn (Secretary), Peter Agatinga (Assistant Secretary), Anthony Amankwa (Treasurer) and four other council members.
Dr. Ohene Yankyira, immediate past UTAG President in a solidarity message encouraged the new leadership to see other Unions on the University as complementary and hence liaise with them towards a common purpose.
He further stressed the importance of effective communication and transparency within the leadership, whiles telling them that the task they have inherited is not an easy one.
The newly elected President, Joseph Agalik Agalik, who spoke to Focus news after the event said his administration is going to ensure maximum use of dialogue in seeking the welfare of FUSSAG and its members. He also says land is being acquired for FUSSAG members to build on towards their retirement.
