Funds secured to provide residential accommodation for Assin Foso Police – MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Assin North, Mr. Alex Antwi Boasiako, has apologised on behalf of the government for its inability to properly accommodate police personnel in the area over the years.

He said funds had been secured to complete a two-storey residential accommodation at Assin Foso for the police by November 2012.

Mr. Antwi Boasiako was speaking at the celebration of the 2011/2012 West African Security Services Association (WASSA) get-together organised by the Assin Foso Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service at Assin Foso.

He said the Assin North Municipal Assembly is to provide two vehicles to the Command, and appealed to the police to be steadfast during the December general elections for peace to prevail during and after the election.

Mr. Antwi Boasiako donated a table-top refrigerator to the Command.

The Deputy Central Regional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Owusu Agyemang, reminded the Police of the task ahead of them with regards to the 2012 general elections and urged them to remain neutral and discharge their duties with professionalism.

The Foso Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police Okyere Anane-Danquah, called for collaboration between the public and the police to ensure peace.

He appealed to corporate bodies, individuals and institutions to support the police with logistics to enable them discharge their duties effectively. He commended officers and men of the Command for their dedicated services in the midst of very challenging working conditions.

The Police Commander expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who continue to co-operate with the police to ensure effective policing in the Assin Foso Municipality and the Division at large.

The Proprietor of the St Andrew Senior High School, Mr. Richard Asiedu who chaired the function, commended the police for helping to reduce road accidents and crime in the area, and urged them to continue to demonstrate professionalism in the performance of their duties.**
