Fulani herdsman put before court for armed robbery

Jasikan, April 26, GNA – Yakubu Sidi, a Fulani herdsman, was last Thursday remanded into prison custody for conspiring to commit robbery an= d robbery. Sidi pleaded not guilty and would reappear on May 06. Mr Seth T. Mensah, Police Chief Inspector, told the court presided o= ver by Mr Edward Apenkwa that on March 9 Sidi and seven others at large robbe= d passengers en-route to Kete-Krachi from Accra.

He said passengers, on board a bus and a pick up, were robbed by mas= ked men at a section of the road between Dormabin and Tokoranu at about 0200 hours. Mr Mensah said the robbers, wielding locally manufactured guns, robb= ed the passengers of personal belongings, cash and mobile phones and fled in= to the bush. He said a complaint was made to the Police and in the course of investigations Sidi was arrested. Mr Mensah said one of the victims of the robbery identified Sidi dur= ing an identification parade. 26 April 10
