Fuel prices to go up from July 1…COMAC

Fuel prices are expected to rise from July 1, 2025, with projections from the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) indicating increases of 2% for petrol, 5% for diesel, and 1% for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

This would mark the first price hike at the pumps since February 2025. COMAC’s Chief Executive, Dr. Riverson Oppong, announced the projections at a news conference in Accra.

“Even before the implementation of the amended Energy Sector Levy, which has been suspended, our projections indicate that pump prices may be going up,” Dr. Oppong said. “Petrol is likely to increase by 2%, LPG may witness a little above 1%, and diesel will likely rise by 5%, after considering all factors, including NPA price build-ups.”

COMAC is calling for a review of the regulations governing the petroleum downstream sector to enable more cost-effective operations.
