Fuel prices in Ghana have dropped again due to increased competition among Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). Some major players, including Star Oil, Allied Oil, and Zen Petroleum, have reduced their prices, with petrol now selling at GH₵10.75 per litre at some stations.
Star Oil has dropped its petrol price from GH₵10.99 to GH₵10.80 per litre, while Allied Oil and Zen Petroleum are now selling petrol at GH₵10.75 per litre.
However, some OMCs have warned that prices may increase from July 1, 2025, if the ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to drive up crude oil prices.
On the other hand, industry players believe that further appreciation of the Ghanaian cedi could offset the anticipated price increase.
This recent price drop is part of a larger trend, with fuel prices having decreased more than six times at the pumps in recent times, largely due to the cedi’s appreciation.
