Frimpong Sentencing Has New Twist

Former UC Santa Barbara soccer star Eric Frimpong, convicted of rape, has not been sentenced while a hearing is held that could bring a new trial. Frimpong was found guilty late last year. The victim was a UC Santa Barbara student.

He could get eight years in prison.

His attorney Bob Sanger is presenting testimony from a dental expert pertaining to bite marks on the victim. Frimpong remains in custody.

In court Thursday many members of the UC Santa Barbara soccer team wore blue polo shirts and sat together in support of the former player who helped lead the 2006 UCSB squad to a National Championship.
