The Free Press in a main front page story says the Value Added Tax (VAT) Project Office has reacted to recent publications in the paper advancing points why VAT is bad for the country. The paper says in a five-page rejoinder, the VAT Project Office said it had noted with interest, the Free Press’ strong arguments against VAT but would not sit down unconcerned. It says the office has therefore embarked on a vehement campaign to try to ‘loosen and unlace’ all that the paper has been saying, via its editorials, stories and contributors’ stories. GRi
