“Its brisk business at Sakumono…NDC MPs in illegal sale of houses, one flat offered for 27 million cedis”, says the Free Press. The paper in a front page lead story says in a move that largely defeats the purpose for which residential accommodation are provided for the country’s Members of Parliament, ex-NDC MPs are selling the SSNIT Flats allocated to them at Sakumono Estates. The Free Press says it can confirm that the flats which were offered to MPs at 13.5 million cedis early this year, are now being offered for at prices ranging from 27 million cedis to 30 million cedis. According to the paper, the most upsetting aspect of the situation is that the MPS have not paid for the full cost of their flats to the SSNIT. GRi
