Agama milks Bank of Ghana – Three brand new cars sold for 15mC?, is the lead headline in the Free Press. The story says ten years after mismanaging the country’s monetary policies as Governor of the Central Bank, culminating in the most distressing phase of the value of the cedi, Dr G.K. Agama “has been sent home with a nestling golden handshake”. The former Bank of Ghana Governor, the Free Press says, received a tidy sum of 102mC as gratuity. It says as if this is not enough, the bank’s Board of Directors further approved the sale of three luxurious vehicles to Dr Agama at a pittance. He has been given five years to pay for the three cars which at their so-called ddepreciated value, were worth only 15mC, says the Free Press. GRI

The Free press says the District Chief Executive for Fanteakwa in the Eastern Region, Mr Ofosu Ampofo, has been accused of serious fraud, corruption and maladministration. Under a front page headline: “Fanteakwa DCE in trouble…Citizens want his removal:, the Free Press says concerned citizens of the district have therefore called on the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development to institute a probe into his activities as the DCE. According to the Free Press Messrs Roger Nti and Kwame Agyei, citizens of the area spoke to the paper and alleged that Mr Ampofo managed to deceive residents of the district and stole a lot of public funds meant for development projects in the area. The DCE who is also the Member of Parliament for the area, claimed to have spent millions of cedis on the projects which included a clinic and a three classroomed block, the Free Press says, GRI
