Freak accident leaves over 16 vehicles badly damaged

A freak accident involving a fully loaded articulated truck has left at least 16 vehicles damaged at a popular place called Commando in Accra New Town.

The truck was said to have failed breaks on the sloppy street where more than 60 vehicles, mainly private vehicles, were parked and rammed into a number of them. No casualty was recorded in the accident which occurred at about 2:00pm Monday.

It took a Police Tata truck with the registration GP 2130 to save other vehicles parked on the stretch from being hit by the articulated truck with the registration 4B 8126 RN.

An eyewitness, Abubakar Seidu Ajarfor, said the Police truck driver managed to divert the articulated truck into a gutter, adding but for the collision, the articulated truck would have caused more damage. Below are photos of the accident.
