France commits 750,000 Euros to flood victims

Accra, Oct. 11, GNA – The French Government on Thursday stepped up its support for flood victims in the North by granting 500,000 Euros to the Ghanaian Government towards the “Food Security Programme”.

A statement to Ghana News Agency signed by Ms Marie-H=E9l=E8ne Hoba Press Attach=E9 to the French Embassy in Ghana, said following the “Flash Appeal” launched on October 5 by the government of Ghana and the United Nations in Accra, the French government had decided to step up its support for flood victims by granting 500,000 euros to the “Food Security Programme” led by the World Food Organization.

This new gesture is to be added to the emergency supply of two puma helicopters which were sent to the North to help the government and UN teams to achieve the evaluation of the disaster. The cost of this operation amounted 250,000 euros.
