Agona Swedru, Aug 12, GNA – Fox FM Radio Station on Wednesday presented cloths and food items worth 80,000 Ghana cedis from residents of Kumasi to the flood victims at Agona Swedru.

The items were donations from the people of Kumasi following an appeal the radio station launched for the flood victims.

The items included 320 bales of used cloths, 62 bags of rice, 220 pieces of wax prints, eight boxes of toothpaste and brush, 12 gallons of cooking oil, shoes, three bags of gari, two bags of sugar and soap.

Captain Blessed Smart, Spokesman of FOX FM, expressed condolences to those who lost their dear ones during the flood and assured the Agona West Municipal Assembly that the station would launch another appeal to the people of Kumasi to further support the victims.

He appealed to Mr Jacob Felix Obeng-Forson, Agona West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) to ensure equitable distribution of items to the victims.

Mr Obeng-Forson who received the items thanked the management and staff of FOX FM and appealed to other radio stations in the to do what FOX FM had done.

He said the assembly alone cannot shoulder heavy burden because the assembly’s financial position was not good enough to cater for the victims.
